This episode opens at the ending of a dinner party. Two men in suceession bid their hosts a farerwell; the first is not called by name but is credited as Herbert; the second is referred to as John, and his also credited. In order, these men were Richard Watts Jr. and Thomas Quinn Curtiss, both renowned critics. Before the Second World War, Mr. Watts served in this capacity, at the `New York Herald Tribune` and after the war at the `New York Post`. Thomas Quinn Curtiss was a world respected writer, and critic of film and theater.
